Grants to cover registration and accommodation

We have obtained funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to cover the registration fees and accommodation (in St Anne's College) of up to 15 Ph.D. students. Since the EPSRC is a UK government funded body, priority will be given to UK and EU students. However, we welcome applications from any Ph.D. student interested in TestCom. Grants to cover travel and accommodation

There are a few grants under the IFIP TC6 Student Travel Grant Programme. Under the programme, students or young researchers from an IFIP member country apply for travel and accommodation funding to make it possible for them to attend a conference or workshop sponsored, in whole or in part, by IFIP TC6 or its WGs. Young researchers are researchers at pre-doctoral level and up to an age limit of 35 years old at the time of the conference. Grants cover travel and lodging expenses up to the per-grant maximum (750 Euros). Students should note that any grant is limited, so that any costs in excess of the grant will not be reimbursed.

Grants will be awarded based on the evaluating committee's assessment of the student's genuine financial need, the potential benefit to the student's education, research, and career, and the potential benefit to the conference.

How to apply for these grants

To apply for either grant, students should send a letter to the Conference chair (ideally emailed to testcom2004@brunel.ac.uk) explaining how they believe attending the conference will benefit them. If applying for travel, the letter should quote the lowest available airfare from the student's location to the conference site and should indicate whether the applicant has already benefited from an IFIP student travel grant in the past. In either case the application should include the bank account details of the student's institution for reimbursement. The application should include a letter from their graduate advisor describing the student's work, the benefit to that work of attending the conference, and a statement of financial need. This letter should either be posted of faxed to the address below. The deadline for applications is Friday 6th February.
